It Started as a side-gig and became a passion.

Over 20 years ago, I discovered appraising. At first, it was a part-time side-job to build up funds to purchase my first property. It quickly grew and became my career.

Appraising is story telling. At the University of Illinois, I studied journalism and advertising.  My friends, family, and colleagues will all tell you how much I love a good story!

When we appraise a property, we seek to tell the story of the property; its history, its use, its purpose, its strengths, its flaws, and its potential future. The better we tell that story, the more accurate our value estimates become. Some stories are simple and straightforward, others have twists and turns.

It starts with a conversation, usually a site visit, some photos, hours of research, and ends with a value.
